Mushrooms and More

Here at the farm we strive towards a zero waste farm. Much of our infrastructure is recycled pallets put to good use. All of our no til garden beds are built in the lasagna method using cardboard, wood chips from our our trees and locally sourced soils.
We grow mushrooms in our specifically built room that is temperature and humidity controlled to conserve both energy and money. Any mushrooms that do not sell at market are dried for later sale or use.  Any large pieces of mycellium from the trimming of the mushrooms go to the chickens to enhance the nutrition of their eggs.
The chickens and ducks eat produce from the garden as well as any fruit and veg  not used in our canning. The ducks provide immediate use liquid manure every time their kiddie pool is cleaned out and the smaller chickens scratch around in the tomato garden for as long as they fit through the fencing.
